Here's a sad story that happened earlier today that ends with an arrest.
The 32-year-old man and his 25-year-old wife were driving from Las Vegas to Montebello with their 9-month-old son in the car. The couple got into an argument in Upland, where the man allegedly beat his wife and left her unconscious next to a freeway. He then drove off and allegedly kidnapped their baby.
When the woman awoke, she was able to wave down a passing motorist and call Upland police. Deputies responded to the call and found the man and baby in a Buick at Alondra Boulevard and Studebaker Road in Norwalk. The infant was unharmed.
The 32-year-old man, identified as Jermaine Rodriguez Suarez, was taken into custody on suspicion of felony domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities report that the 9-month-old baby is now safe.
