People driving on I-5 Freeway were surprised to see a naked man standing on a rooftop and masturbating in front of motorists. His actions prompted multiple drivers to call the Santa Ana Police Department on Wednesday, to report the man's inappropriate behavior.
A police helicopter was sent to arrest the suspect identified as Charles Edward Meaux Jr., but the suspect fled the scene on foot and hid inside a home, where a family and child were present. The police eventually found Meaux inside a closet, where he struggled with police and was allegedly uncooperative.
Meaux was eventually arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary, indecent exposure, obstructing and resisting officers, and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $150,000, where he has a court date scheduled for today.
Police say that Meaux had a criminal history in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, prior to the incident. He has been convicted of burglary, theft, possession of a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, loitering to engage in illegal drug activity, resisting a peace officer, making criminal threats and trespassing, according to The Orange County Register.
