After a month long search, police have found a suspect known as the "stun gun bandit" in Los Angeles. Police have identified the suspect as 68-year old Lester Robert Evans. Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Paul Vernon says that it was only a matter of time, before authorities would find a suspect.
"We had a feeling this guy would surface eventually," Vernon said in the Los Angeles Times. "It
just turns out he decided to rob a bank where he had his own account."
The 'stun gun bandit' is known in Los Angeles for demanding cash from a store clerk, and then attacking the clerk with a stun gun (see earlier blog post "Look Out For The 'Stun Gun Bandit'"). The police were able to catch Evans after the man allegedly robbed a bank where he had an account. LAPD investigators then searched Evans' home, where they found evidence in his skid row apartment that helped tie him to the December boutique robbery.
He may be in need of a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney for a good defense in court. But as it turns out, Evans was already on parole for a bank robbery. Evans was booked for the recent bank robbery and is now being held without bail for a parole violation.
