The teenager that was sentenced to six months in jail last May for burglarizing Orlando Bloom's Hollywood Hills home has been released from jail early, according to CBS News. Bling Ring member Alexis Neiers spent just 30 days behind bars at the Regional Detention Facility before her release last Friday.
Yet the 19-year-old isn't completely off the hook for the burglary. The Bling Ring member still has three years of probation to get through and will have to pay a $600,000 worth of restitution for getting out of jail early.
The reason for Alexis Neiers' early release is due to the jail overcrowding in Los Angeles. Non-violent offenders in the area are getting released from jail earlier and earlier, where females are only required to complete 25 percent of their jail sentence. Yet some people like Alexis Neiers are being released even earlier than the 25 percent mark.
Alexis Neiers was identified as one of three females caught on a security tape that broke into Orlando Bloom's home last summer and made off with more than $500,000 worth of valuables. She could have faced six years in prison for her felony residential burglary conviction, but a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney was able to establish a plea deal on her behalf so that she could spend just a limited time in jail.
The starlet claimed that she was only involved in the Orlando Bloom break-in and not the other Bling Ring burglaries. She had been accused of also burglarizing the homes of other celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Audrina Partridge, Rachel Bilson, Ashley Tisdale, Megan Fox, and Lindsay Lohan.
